Ubisoft San Francisco executive producer Mark Rubin just announced it xdefinant will get another open session right before the release date.
Rubin attended Ubisoft’s Showcase during E3 2023 to confirm it xdefinant will have its open session on June 21-23, available to all players on PC, PS5AND Xbox Series X/S. Opening up a new FPS game to everyone in hopes of discovering the network code, fine-tuning the controller, and “obviously maxing out the load on the servers,” says Rubin.
“Community was the foundation of this development,” continues Rubin. “There have been 28 public tests so far, with the most recent closed beta being the largest.” Over 1 million players have jumped in so far xdefinantand that number is only going to increase.
xdefinant it is also considering launching later this year, hopefully mid-2023. The six-week preseason will include all launch content, including 14 maps, 5 modes, 24 weapons, and 5 factions. While the first year is set to feature four new “meta-changing” factions, 12 new weapons, and 12 new maps, “all inspired by Ubisoft’s amazing worlds.”
“The first year will feature great content focused on making a fun arcade FPS game,” says Rubin. “We’re committed to our community to make Xdefiant the best place to compete and have fun.”
Although it has a long way to go to beat some classics like Overwatch 2, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2AND Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege. Let’s hope that if this mood continues, xdefinant will come to us best first person shooter games list when it’s finally released.
